Gregory Helms Returns To Challenge Chris Jericho For The WWE Championship: Taking a look at the Situation

This past Friday on Smackdown, Gregory Helms made a return to Smackdown after nearly a month off television. When we last saw Helms, he Chokeslammed Chris Jericho through a Table during the Contract Signing for Jericho's match with CM Punk at Judgment Day. Helms left for a while to train, and returned in time to challenge Jericho.

The Rivalry between Helms and Jericho started at Backlash when Helms came to the ring as "The Hurricane" to compete in a 21-Man Battle Royal in which the winner would earn a shot at the World Championship on their respective brand. Chris Jericho attacked Helms during his entrance, throwing him into the steel security barricade on the ramp and preventing him from competing in the match. This was after Jericho had lost a match to The Undertaker earlier in the night, and Jericho wasn't scheduled to compete in the Battle Royal.

Helms isn't really known for being a Main Eventer, but after Chokeslamming Chris Jericho through a Table, and now with this match that was announced by Triple H on Smackdown, he's pretty much been elevated to that level. We think that Helms deserves the match, but do we think he'll win? Sadly, no. We see Jericho picking up the victory at The Bash as he'll prove too experienced for Helms. Only time will tell.

Immortal Goes for Gold: Taking a look at the situation

This past Tuesday on ECW, Devon Immortal defeated Brownlee and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for an ECW Championship Match at The Bash. As a result, Devon Immortal will go on to The Bash to face Shelton Benjamin for the prestigious Title.

Devon Immortal is a Former World Heavyweight Champion; the youngest in Wrestling History, actually. Currently age 19, Immortal has a long future ahead of him in World Wrestling Entertainment, and it is expected that he will hold a large number of Championships throughout his career. Right now, however, Immortal has only held two Championships; the World Heavyweight Championship, and the WWE Tag Team Championships with Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP).

Immortal was sent to Raw in the end of 2008, where he saw some success as Randy Orton's Protege. When that didn't work out, Immortal was Drafted to ECW, where he looked to make a new start. He made an impactful Debut, taking out The Big Show despite not winning a match on his first night there. This past Tuesday on ECW marked Immortal's first victory in the Land of Extreme, and it was definitely an impressive one.

Given his WWE History, Immortal seems to be the favorite going into this match. However, Shelton Benjamin defeated Jack Swagger and Tommy Dreamer in ECW Championship Matches, and he looks to defeat Devon Immortal in his third Title Defense. Will Immortal win? We say yes. Only time will tell.

The Miz wins the Scramble: Taking a look at the situation

Alright, so one night ago on Monday Night Raw, "The Miz" Mike Mizanin earned perhaps the biggest win of his career when he defeated Shawn Michaels, Edge, Mr. Kennedy, and Kylarnartia in a WWE Scramble Match. Not only did Miz earn a World Heavyweight Championship Match by doing this, he actually pinned Shawn Michaels during the match to do so.

Since making his Debut in 2005, Miz has seen some success. He's a two-time Tag Team Champion with John Morrison, having held both the WWE and World Tag Team Championships. On ECW, he was a force to be reckoned with as well. When he was Drafted to Raw in 2008, he seemed to have trouble finding a place for himself as a Singles Competitor. After earning a few victories, he began to establish himself as a decent competitor.

It wasn't until a few weeks ago that The Miz began stepping up to the plate and looking for a chance at the World Championship. Whether or not it was luck, Miz did win the Scramble Match last night on Raw and he will be facing Jeff Hardy at The Bash. Are his chances good? It's too early to tell. Let's wait and see if The Miz makes an impact on next week's Raw before making any quick judgments.
